OSM THOME Closing Ceremony with DPMAINHS
The OSM Thome Closing Ceremony for the Adopt A Ship Program was successfully held at Doña Pilar M. Alberto Integrated National High School as the culminating activity of the program. The event highlighted the strong partnership between the school and OSM Thome in promoting maritime awareness and inspiring students to explore opportunities in the maritime industry. The program began with an invocation and the singing of a nationalistic song, followed by the opening remarks of Mr. Omar M. Jacalne, Principal I, who warmly welcomed the guests and expressed his gratitude for the continued collaboration with maritime partners.
Ms. Mary Rose S. Aguilar, Senior Education Program Specialist, delivered a special message emphasizing the importance of maritime education and encouraging students to pursue their goals with determination. Inspirational messages were also shared by Ms. Jonnilen Calimag, Crew Operation Manager of OSM Thome, and Mr. George Hoyt, IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, who motivated the students to work hard, value teamwork, and strive for excellence. The program was further enlivened by an intermission dance performance by the KAMAAP Officers.
During the program, C/Off Jeffrey Aldas delivered the Thank You Message, acknowledging the presence and support of Mr. Bien Carlo V. Galapon, Head of Programs of the GOLD Foundation, and Mr. Romar Bien Tamayo, Career Development Officer of IMEC. A Question and Answer segment was also conducted to reinforce the students’ learning from the Adopt A Ship Program. This was followed by the awarding ceremony for the Interschool Quiz Bee winners and the recognition of teachers, school administrators, and company representatives for their invaluable contributions. The event concluded with the closing remarks of Ms. Katherine Kate S. Jasa, while the program was efficiently hosted by Mr. Paul Daniel S. Hutalla.
Overall, the ceremony marked a meaningful conclusion to the Adopt A Ship Program and further strengthened the partnership between the school and the maritime industry while inspiring students to pursue excellence and future opportunities in the maritime field.
