CROSSWORLD Closing Ceremony with CNHS
The CROSSWORLD Closing Ceremony, held in partnership with Adopt A Ship International at Calendola National High School, marked the successful culmination of the Adopt A Ship Program. The event celebrated students’ learning, creativity, and active participation, while reinforcing the strong collaboration between the school and the maritime sector.
The program opened with an introduction by host Mr. John Vincent B. Inovio, followed by an invocation that set a reflective tone for the ceremony. In his opening remarks, School Head Mr. Jilly F. Forteza expressed appreciation for the continued partnership with maritime organizations and highlighted the program’s role in expanding students’ awareness of global career opportunities.
The celebration was enlivened by a series of intermission dance performances from student groups—Genesis & Luke, Corinthians & Ezekiel, and Acts & Proverbs—showcasing teamwork, creativity, and enthusiasm. The performers were recognized with tokens from the partner organizations. The program also featured the awarding of winners in the Digital and Traditional Poster Making Contest, recognizing students’ artistic expression and understanding of maritime themes.
An inspirational message was delivered by Ms. Dyan Navarro, who encouraged students—particularly young women, in line with International Women’s Month—to pursue their aspirations and recognize their potential in various industries, including maritime. This was followed by a message from Mr. George Hoyt, who emphasized the importance of teamwork, especially within the family as a foundation of support and unity.
C/Officer Jeffrey Aldas delivered a message of gratitude, acknowledging the contributions of the partner company, school leaders, teachers, and students. An interactive question-and-answer session followed, allowing students to engage with speakers and deepen their understanding of the maritime field.
The ceremony continued with the awarding of certificates to teachers, administrators, and company representatives in recognition of their support. It concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Maryrose B. Andales, followed by a photo opportunity and a video presentation expressing appreciation to all partner organizations.
Overall, the event served as a meaningful conclusion to the program—celebrating collaboration, student achievement, and creativity, while inspiring learners to value teamwork and explore opportunities within the maritime industry.
