Adopt A Ship Young Mariners Quiz Bee with WALLEM - WESTMINSTER and SAES
In line with the Adopt A Ship Program’s commitment to broadening awareness, deepening knowledge, and nurturing appreciation of the maritime world among young learners, the Young Mariners Quiz Bee was held on September 29, 2025 at San Antonio Elementary School in partnership with Wallem-Westminster. This activity served as an opportunity for students to showcase their wit, critical thinking, and sportsmanship in an engaging competition.
The event opened with an inspiring message from OIC Assistant Principal Michelle M. Padolina, who emphasized the value of continuous learning and the important role of maritime education in the students’ growth. The competition was conducted separately across all three levels from Grades 4 to 6 with 14 students each grade level. The quiz bee featured three rounds each consisting of ten questions with corresponding scoring system. Contestants were given 10 seconds to write their answers to multiple-choice questions, while clincher questions were administered in the event of a tie to determine the winners. The quizmaster, C/OFF Jeffrey Aldas, skillfully handled the rounds, while Mr. Ivan Abad kept the program lively as host.
Participants who excelled received tokens and certificates, while the top three winners proudly took home medals for 1st to 3rd places, honoring their knowledge and effort. The event concluded with the closing message from School Principal Edgardo Mujecol, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, organizers, and program implementers for their support. A photo opportunity followed, capturing the spirit of teamwork and appreciation as organizers, and winners, celebrated the success of the activity. Indeed, The Young Mariners Quiz Bee truly reflected its theme - encouraging learners to discover the world, one question at a time.
