The Intership Closing Ceremony with Langgam Elementary School was a joyful and unforgettable celebration, marked by warm hospitality, vibrant performances, and meaningful exchanges that highlighted the spirit of maritime learning. The Intership and Adopt-a-Ship International (AASI) team were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic welcome of the LES community—students cheering at the top of their voices as the visitors entered the venue. Despite varied class schedules and even as heavy rain poured amid the noise and excitement, the program unfolded beautifully and became a memorable milestone for everyone present.
Ms. Dory Gallardo delivered her heartfelt welcome message, setting an inspiring tone for the event. The crowd was later entertained by a lively dance number from the LES SELG, adding energy and color to the ceremony.
A special message was shared by Capt. Rommel Salinas, Crew Operations Manager, together with C/OFF Jefferson Mendoza. Their words encouraged the young learners to remain curious and passionate, especially about maritime education. This was followed by an interactive discussion where students were invited to ask maritime-related questions. Participants received special tokens—a simple yet meaningful gesture celebrating curiosity and learning.
Mr. George Hoyt, IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, expressed deep gratitude to Intership for their unwavering support. He highlighted the importance of teamwork, unity, and leadership—values at the heart of both maritime service and holistic learning.
Creativity also took center stage as students enthusiastically participated in the judging of artwork entries, including poster-making and galleon model displays.
C/OFF Jeffrey Aldas delivered the Thank You Message, expressing appreciation to teachers, partners, and students who contributed to the success of the program. This was followed by the awarding of certificates to the partner company, participating teachers, and contest winners. Prizes and tokens were distributed, recognizing the learners’ hard work and exceptional creativity.
One of the highlights of the program was the systematic photo opportunity, where students and guests lined up for a unified pose—a salute and a heart sign paired with the joyful “EYYY!”—capturing the spirit of camaraderie and maritime pride in one fun and energetic moment.
The ceremony concluded with the closing remarks of Mr. Aldrin Valenzela, who commended the collaborative efforts that made the activity impactful and meaningful.
