San Roque Elementary School glowed not with light, but with the warmth promise and pride as it joyfully welcomed the relaunch of Adopt a Ship program on July 8, 2025, marking its first-ever partnership with PACC Shipping Philippines, charting its first course in the noble mission of bridging maritime education and young minds. This inaugural collaboration is deeply rooted in the company’s commitment to maritime advocacy, a mission to spark curiosity and cultivate awareness of the global maritime industry among the youth. Leading this meaningful delegation were Capt. Adrian Ludovice, President, Mr. Anthony Villarina, and Mr. Duke Caceres, accompanied by the AASI Team led by IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador Mr. George Hoyt, whose presence radiated the shared global vision of connecting classrooms with the sea. In his heartfelt opening message, School Head Mr. Robert Matthew de Castro extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and underscored the significance of introducing young learners to maritime knowledge early in their educational journey. A dynamic company profile video gave students an exciting glimpse into PACC Shipping’s global operations, setting the tone for an enriching discovery. Mr. Villarina then animated the room with an engaging interaction, opening young eyes to the exciting roles and possibilities within the shipping world. Mr. Caceres built on that momentum, sharing insights on the importance of the maritime industry and inviting students to consider seafaring as a noble and attainable profession. Capt. Ludovice recounted his journey at sea and his narrative stirred the students’ imagination and urged them to dream bravely, study diligently, and see beyond the horizon. Mr. Hoyt reminded everyone of teamwork, humility, generosity, and character - qualities that illuminate the path to both professional and personal success. C/OFF Jeffrey Aldas provided the program’s phases, explaining how students would engage in email exchanges with officers onboard. The program concluded with closing words from Ms. Jocelyn Bosi, who expressed heartfelt thanks to all partners involved, sharing her hope for a fruitful and transformative cycle of learning ahead. To support curriculum integration, world maps were distributed - serving as both a teaching tool and a window into global geography and trade routes. A final photo captured not just faces, but the spirit of cooperation, inspiration, and shared purpose. With sails now lifted, SRES and PACC Shipping begin their voyage - one rooted in education, guided by values, and destined to bring the maritime world ever closer to the hearts and minds of the next generation.
