MARLOW NAVIGATION LAUNCHING CEREMONIES WITH PC2ES, MES & CES

Marlow Navigation continues its strong commitment to maritime education through its continued participation in the Adopt-A-Ship program, in partnership with three elementary schools in San Pedro, Laguna - Pacita Complex 2 Elementary School, Magsaysay Elementary School, and Cuyab Elementary School. The relaunching ceremonies, held across all three schools on July 2, 2025, were made even more meaningful by the presence of Marlow Navigation’s dedicated team, led by Consultant Capt. Leo Tenorio, together with Ms. Jeanne Araga, Ms. Rachelle Meneses, and Ms. Jenny Dormitorio. Their engagement and presence continue to inspire young learners and strengthen the partnership between the maritime industry and educational institution.

Launching Ceremony at PC2ES

A bright and promising morning set the tone for the relaunch of the Adopt-A-Ship program at Pacita Complex 2 Elementary School. As one of the pioneering schools of the program, PC2ES once again opened its doors to maritime learning, warmly welcoming delegates from Marlow Navigation and the AASI team led by IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador George Hoyt. School Head Mrs. Leticia Deciar opened the event with heartfelt gratitude, reflecting the school's continued commitment to integrating maritime education into their curriculum. In a meaningful first, selected students and teachers shared their experiences and learnings from the program, highlighting its growing impact on both learners and educators. They spoke about how the AAS program sparked curiosity, broadened their worldview, and deepened their understanding of the maritime industry. Capt. Leo Tenorio energized the crowd with inspiring stories from his life at sea and led an interactive Q&A session, where students enthusiastically answered maritime-related questions and received prizes for their participation. Ambassador Hoyt emphasized the importance of teamwork, respect, and a positive mindset, while C/O Jeffrey Aldas presented the objectives of the program and officially welcomed the PC2ES community onboard for a new cycle of learning. The event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Bitoon, who expressed optimism for another successful year of implementation. The distribution of world maps, which serve as a valuable tool for weekly lessons and ship tracking, followed - capping the event with a group photo that captured the strong partnership and shared vision between the school and the maritime community. Rain or shine, the spirit of maritime education thrives. The Adopt-A-Ship program was successfully relaunched at Magsaysay Elementary School – Marlow’s second partner school, reaffirming the school’s commitment to integrating global maritime awareness into the elementary classroom. Despite being a small school, MES led by School Head Mrs. Rusela Gumabay - welcomed the delegates with heartfelt energy and enthusiasm, proving that no space is too small and no voice is too quiet when hearts are filled with passion. Mrs. Gumabay opened the event with an uplifting message of support and hope, highlighting the importance of meaningful and transformative learning experiences such as Adopt-A-Ship. The program featured touching reflections from selected students and teachers, who shared how the initiative has sparked their curiosity and expanded their understanding of the maritime industry. Capt. Tenorio captivated the audience with stories from his seafaring journey, then engaged the students in an interactive Q&A session, rewarding correct answers with Marlow pouch bags - bringing joy and excitement to eager young minds. Ambassador Hoyt, with his trademark heart sign and warm smile, reminded everyone of the importance of teamwork, kindness, and generosity - values that lie at the heart of the AAS mission. No rain is too heavy, and no tide too high for the dedicated community of Cuyab Elementary School as it proudly relaunched the Adopt-A-Ship program. Welcoming delegates with a festive drum and lyre band, CES turned a rainy day into a celebration of learning, resilience, and partnership. Despite a flooded venue, the warmth and enthusiasm of the school community - led by School Head Mr. Jhumar Concepcion - shone through. In his message, Mr. Concepcion expressed heartfelt thanks and strong support for the program and its maritime partners. The event featured powerful testimonies from students and teachers, highlighting how the program deepened their understanding of maritime life and sparked dreams of future careers at sea. Capt. Leo Tenorio shared his seafaring journey and led an exciting Q&A session, rewarding correct answers with Marlow pouch bags, while Ambassador George Hoyt inspired the crowd with his message on values and perseverance.
