Cuyab Integrated National High School held a closing ceremony of the “Adopt a Ship” program, a maritime learning initiative designed to inspire students to explore the world of shipping and seafaring. School head Mr. Marlon Tapac opened the event with a warm welcome, saying, “Thank you for choosing our school to be part of this program.” Career Development Manager Mr. Jomar Masacote followed with an inspiring message for the students, emphasizing that this is just the beginning. He shared his hopes that students will learn a lot from the program, which is created for young learners who are curious about maritime careers. “The ‘Adopt a Ship’ program gives you more than facts — it lets you experience traveling the world and learn values like discipline and teamwork from seafarers on board,” he said. Mr. George Hoyt, IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, spoke about the importance of teamwork both at sea and at home. He also highlighted that the maritime industry welcomes everyone, offering equal opportunities for all. Mr. Jeffrey Aldas, Managing Coordinator of AASI, expressed his excitement for the program’s learning sessions. He noted how these experiences would provide valuable insights and mark the start of new opportunities in the maritime field. The closing ceremony means the start of the learning from "Adopt a Ship" adventure, it also gave the students of Cuyab Integrated National High School a window into an exciting future filled with learning, exploration, and bright job opportunities.
