Adopt A Ship Closing Program with OSM Thome Docks at DPMAISHS

Doña Pilar M. Alberto Integrated High School successfully held its Adopt a Ship closing ceremony with OSM Thome on April 7, 2025. The event opened with a prayer led by the AP Coordinator, followed by Principal Mr. Omar M. Jacalne’s message of gratitude and encouragement for students to dream big. He assured continued support for the program. 2/O Maribel Singian shared her inspiring journey as a seafarer, emphasizing that gender and poverty are not obstacles to success. A lively intermission dance was performed by the KaMAAP Club Officers. Capt. Sherwin Rafael of OSM Thome encouraged students to explore maritime careers, highlighting abundant job opportunities. Mr. George Hoyt stressed the importance of teamwork and led the students in singing The Greatest Love of All, celebrating the youth as the future. C/O Jeffrey Aldas expressed his appreciation to all who made the program a success. He also facilitated fun games and a Q&A session, which students enthusiastically joined. Certificates were awarded to recognize the participants. Mr. Jorelle Chrysan L. Gasapos closed the program with a heartfelt reminder: “This is not an ending, but the beginning of greater opportunities.” Indeed, the journey doesn’t end here—it only sets sail toward a brighter horizon.
