Ms. Anaseini Tukana the Adopt A Ship International Coordinator - Pacific , visited the Fiji Maritime Academy as part of the Adopt A Ship awareness initiative that connects schools with ships/seafarers fostering a global perspective and maritime awareness among students. During discussions with the Fiji Maritime Academy, together they explored how the academy could actively support the initiative and discussed the reciprocal benefits that the program brings to both the academy and the seafaring profession. This initiative plays a crucial role in sustaining the seafaring profession in Fiji and the broader region, essentially passing the torch to the next generation of seafarers the children of today. AASI Coordinator-Pacific is optimistic that this program will not only spread but also continue to thrive. It's a mutually beneficial endeavour, offering gains to children, communities, and the profession alike. It truly stands as a win-win program.
